Once again, Joe, Juan and Dmitri are throwing another shindig at Gua Rapo. The mojitos, house music and South American fare will make you forget its 34 degrees outside. On a side note, I’m loving the flyer for each dj’s description. Instead of posting what labels they represent, you get their deep darkest secrets.
This is my boy, Scotty Bebop’s, latest endeavor. Electro, Nu Rave, B’more, bangers… All that good stuff that DC needs more of. More news to come as I get it.

Back in early January, I posted about Mishka’s collabo with tattoo artist, JK5. The post happened on Killahbeez btw. I kept scratching my head trying to understand how the deviant Bear Mop logo fit in. The answer is Boba Fett. Earlier on, I had read that the guys that run Mishka and Joseph Ari Aloi (JK5) hearts Star Wars with a passion. Finally, the mystery is solved for me. A part of me thinks I should’ve posted this on KB, but word about the spring 08 pieces are all over the blogosphere already.

My boy, Scotty Electro, sent me these images of his finished board game project. He’s a graphic design student at NVCC. He has also helped me design the past party flyers. I have no idea how this project correlates with graphic design as a whole. But its worth showing off. If anyone needs flyers, business cards, etc designed, feel free to commission him to do so.
Roxy Cottontail rocks my world. Had it not been for her, I wouldn’t know about Dante’s Fried Chicken or the Outcasts. Ok hold on, I’m lying. Alina told me about Dante Fried Chicken first. Gjjjeah! Anyway, I’ve been on Roxy’s emailing list for quite a bit hoping one day, I’d attend one of her parties. Check out her winter mix. And make the leap to the backside for a track listing as provided by Queens Hawaii.
It’s true, thinking is a bitch. You end up doubting yourself with endless mind chatter. On a side note, this reminds me of Nike’s “Just Do It” slogan.
So last night was fairly successful at Mezza Luna despite the weather. First time promoting at a DC spot with my group, MPurean along with Joe’s promotional group, PipeDreams and I walked out with a buck twenty (that was my cut). Not bad for hanging out for 5 hours with friends and family. Mezza Luna has some really great people. Sara, Malena and Kim are great bartenders. Kalifah, James and William are super nice dudes and finally the owner, Mike. He’s running a great show there with great mediterranean fare up until 10 and then music and wine afterwards.
This entry is really geared towards all the friends that came through to support me in my party promoting endeavours. A big thanks goes to the my extended brothers, the Fungs, Chez Tom, Paul, Anthony Pho, Anthony Jones who obviously had a great since it was his birthday. Pics will be up soon or not…
Put Audrey Tautou and Gad Elmaleh together in a film and you’ll have an instant winner. This will be a foreign flick I’ll be waiting to watch at E Street Cinema. Or at least keep an eye for the dvd to come through. You can view the trailer here.
